Casa Amando is the first GOOD TRAVEL SEAL GOLD & EcoDomus certified Boutique House in Rovinj.
The Good Travel Seal is a transparent certification recognised by Travalyst providing a scorecard showcasing our achievements in 10 sustainability-related commitments.
The EcoDomus is a local certification carried out by the Istrian Administrative Department for Tourism which is aligned with the global sustainability goals in 12 categories.

Purified & softened tap water
We have a central water purification and softening system installed. You can drink our tap water without any concerns. No plastic bottles, better coffee taste, less detergents.
Saving Water
Water is a valuable good - therefore we have installed water-saving fittings. Furthermore we do not have daily cleaning and change the towels on request.
Ecological & Natural
We use ecologically certificated detergents and cleaning products, recycling toilet paper and kitchen rolls as well as natural toiletries from local manufacturers.
Saving Energy
All our devices & appliances have a high energy efficiency class and the entire lighting is equipped with LEDs. In addition we have smart air conditioning controls and give our guests recommendations on how they can help us save energy.
Cotton tote bags
We encourage our guests to say no to plastic bags by providing fabric bags for their shoppings in every room as well as in the common area.
Upcycled Furniture
For our minimalistic interiors we used natural materials and upcycled furniture: we restored inherited furniture ourselves.
Collect Empty Refundable Cans & Bottles
Whenever you can not avoid bottled drinks we kindly ask you to buy bottles or cans with this pledge sign. We collect them for our neighbour who brings them back.
Think before you trash it
We provide different waste bins to separate paper, plastic, batteries etc. and encourage our guests to help us separating the waste they could not avoid.
Supporting Sustainable Mobility
We encourage our guests to leave their car on our private parking during their stay and to explore Rovinj by foot or by bike. Rovinj and the Istrian Region offer a quite well developed network of charging stations for electric cars and bikes.
Additionally we are working on a eMobility sharing concept which we hope to offer in the near future.

OUR STORY
Bouncing between Croatia & Germany
How it all began
We are Marijana and Darko, both born in Germany with Croatian roots. A film project in 2011 brought us to Rovinj where we fell in love with it. 3 years later this house found us...and it took us 2,5 years to renovate it completely. Casa Amando opened its doors in July 2017 and was a personal project of Marijana - and she literally knows every stone!
In the summer months and in our project free time, we also enjoy to be in the house and are available for questions, personal tips and suggestions. I put my review on the line with any recommendation I give as it has been personally tested by me.
Who we are
Darko and I, we are bouncing between Germany and Croatia now. Apart from being the owners of CASA AMANDO we are film and IT professionals bridging between Germany & Croatia.
